IN-HOUSE CAD DESIGN & 3D MODELLING
In addition to Tynbell Sheetmetal’s laser cutting, welding, fabrication, and folding capabilities, we offer full in-house CAD facilities. We are able to produce CAD Drawings and 3D models, letting us help you from start to finish. What this means to you for you is a quicker turnaround and an overall better looking and more professional looking final product. Whether it is a custom design, sketches, sample or even a cardboard cut out we can assist you.
Unlike many other laser cutting shops, Tynbell Sheetmetal can take your idea from initial concept to design through to manufacturing a fraction of the time it takes our competitors. Our dedicated team has years of experience in fabrication and manufacturing to help make your concept a reality.
Let our design team help you with your future projects. We will guide you through bending allowances, min corner radius. We will also aid you in developing a manufacturable product reducing welds and offering design optimisation of your product.
At Tynbell Sheetmetal we pride ourselves on producing quality work, excellent customer service, whilst achieving agreed delivery times, all at competitive prices.
IN-HOUSE CAD DESIGN & 3D MODELlING
CAD Design
- CAD is a critical technology in sheet metal production, allowing designers and manufacturers to create detailed and accurate drawings and models of sheet metal components and products. CAD design enables the creation of 2D and 3D models that can be easily modified, tested, and optimized for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- In sheet metal production, CAD design plays a crucial role in ensuring that the final product meets the required specifications, including dimensional accuracy, material selection, and manufacturing feasibility. CAD software allows designers to create complex shapes and geometries, generate toolpaths for cutting and bending, and simulate various manufacturing processes to identify and resolve potential issues before production.
3D Modelling
- 3D modelling is a crucial aspect of sheet metal production, providing a detailed and accurate representation of sheet metal components and products. 3D modelling software enables designers and engineers to create virtual models of sheet metal parts and assemblies, which can be viewed, analysed, and modified before production.
- In sheet metal production, 3D modelling can help identify potential design issues, such as material thickness, bend radius, and manufacturing feasibility, before the actual production process begins. This can save time and reduce the risk of errors and rework, as the 3D model can be tested and optimized for manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
From start to finish
- We can assist you in several stages of production, each of which plays a crucial role in ensuring that the final product meets the required specifications and quality standards.
- Typically beginning with the design and modelling phase, where the sheet metal component or product is created in a 3D modelling software. The virtual model can be reviewed and modified to optimize its manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- In the next stage a physical prototype of the sheet metal component or product is created using a variety of sheet metal fabrication techniques, such as cutting, bending, and welding. The prototype can be tested and analysed to ensure that it meets the required specifications and quality standards.
- Once the prototype has been approved, the sheet metal production process can begin. This phase typically involves cutting and forming the sheet metal into the desired shape, using specialized equipment such as laser cutters, press brakes, and rollers. The sheet metal is then assembled and welded together to create the final product.
- The final stage is finishing and inspection phase, where the finished product is cleaned, deburred, and finished to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional properties. The product is inspected and tested to ensure that it meets the required specifications and quality standards before it is shipped to the customer.
